Regional research

Latin America & Caribbean

Independent country context for claims involving violence, protection, relocation, and return.

Risk, protection, and context

Research can examine the local and national context relevant to alleged gang violence, political harm, gender-based violence, family association, or other asserted risks. General reports are tested against the individual profile and place of return.

Internal relocation

Whether relocation is safe and reasonable requires practical consideration of territorial reach, documentation, family networks, housing, work, and the functioning of state protection in the proposed destination.

Evidence for proceedings

For work before the FtTIAC and UTIAC, the opinion remains independent and within its stated remit. Sources, methodology, assumptions, and limitations are made clear in line with the CPR Part 35 duty to the Tribunal or Court.
