OISC Level 3 Advisers

Independent expert evidence for advisers managing complex immigration and protection matters.

Clear scope from the outset

Instructions should identify the issue requiring specialist evidence, relevant case history, hearing or filing date, and the material to be considered. This enables a proportionate assessment of whether expert evidence is appropriate.

Support for protection claims

Reports can address country conditions and other matters within the expert's remit for proceedings in the FtTIAC and UTIAC. They do not replace legal advice or advocacy.

Independent opinion

CPR Part 35 requires an overriding duty to the Tribunal or Court. The report makes clear its sources, methodology, assumptions, and limitations so that the evidence can be evaluated fairly.
